Larry Hammond,
owner
After
working at several successful dog daycare facilities, Larry
Hammond opened Playful Pets in January of 2004. Playful
Pets helped Larry realize his dream of running a friendly,
affordable non-crated daycare center.
Larry and his own welcoming committee of dogs--Bongo, Cindy
and his newest baby, Scooby Doo--live on site above the
daycare facility. |

Brandon Myers
Just taking
care of his sister's dog wasn't enough for Brandon, so he
came to Playful Pets for his dog-fix. Brandon works
part-time while attending DePaul University. Brendan loves
giving extra attention to each of the dogs. He is especially
looking forward to the summer when the dogs will be able to
lay in the sun and play in the pool. |

Meredith Kersey
Meredith
learned about Playful Pets through her volunteer work for
Chicago Canine Rescue. She enjoys meeting all of the new
dogs, as well as socializing several rescue dogs who are
fostered on-site. Meredith became so attached to her own
foster dog Danny, a Pitbull mix, that she ended up failing
"fostering 101" when she decided she couldn't give him up! |

Lisa Curtis
Lisa loves
to be surrounded by dogs. At Playful Pets she is known to
sit in the middle of all the dogs and play. Her love of
animals also extends to cats; she has four herself. She also
works at Treehouse Animal Foundation, a cageless, no-kill
cat shelter. Lisa recommends Playful Pets as a good
connection for someone who is looking to foster or adopt a
dog. |
